Are you in the right job?

3 ways of knowing and what to do about it.
It’s that time of year again; spring is in the air, changes are afoot all around us in nature. Is it time to resolve to nail that perfect job and become happier?
But, is it a whole new career you may be after?
How do you know?
  • Do you regularly suffer from the Sunday night blues? Is it starting to set in earlier and earlier in the day or before going back to work after a holiday?
  • Do you feel empty? You finally land that big fish client, win that contract, forge that partnership and instead of jumping for joy, you feel a bit flat.
  • Is what you do on a daily basis jarring with your core values or passions?
If you agree with all these statements, it’s clearly time for a change.
What now?
  • Write a list of things you loved about the best job you ever had or project you worked on.
  • Write a list of things you HATED about the same
  • What do the things in the first have in common with your current career/occupation/job?
  • If there are a lot of differences, the chances are you are not being true to yourself.
  • If there are a few, you are probably in the right occupation but need a change of environment
  • You need to find something that includes a lot of the things you most enjoyed or that will make you feel the same sense of fulfilment.
  • Just thinking along the lines of adding more of the good stuff and eliminating the bad, you are one step closer.
Career Coaching is a fantastic way of looking at your core values and passions and you may be surprised  at how untrue to yourself and your life purpose you are being on a regular basis.

According to Jill McCulloch, business and corporate coach:
”A fully trained coach works with you to design your future rather than get over your past.  Coaching gives you the opportunity to discover what fulfills you, to recognise your brilliance and make conscious your self-limiting beliefs. With clarity comes focus and with accountability comes integrity, increasing self-confidence and motivation.”

Take some steps now to becoming more fulfilled in your career and a happier you. Become like the Berroca slogan, “You but on a really good day."
